chances for getting a homepath loan with credit card default?

i missed two payments within the last year on my Visa during an extremely rough time for me personally and financially. it was 2 consecutive months and never before or after in my 14 year history of having credit/car loans etc have i had to make a late payment. would this episode make it impossible for me to get a homepath loan or is there still a chance? credit is not horrible at 697. Thank you

Hi Darien. Assuming those accounts are paid current at this time and your score is what you noted, you should not have a problem, unless there is more to the scenario. I would discuss this with your mortgage professional and then can definitely run your application through for Automated Underwriting to see what can be done for you to get your Pre-Approved. Good Luck!
